Peter Callesen works primarily with paper, cardboard and installations. The well-known and ever present A4 paper ia his primary medium, through which he examines the relationship between the positive and negative form by cutting out a silhouette and making it into a three-dimensional figure. The fragility of the paper emphasizes the existential themes his work process: tragedy, everyday life and romance. Memory is also explored in relation to childhood dreams and classic fairy tales, as well as the existential element in his work.

The existential foundation in Peter Callesen’s works leaves us with works which are exquisitely executed as well as highly relevant his audience.
